From Idea to Palm Springs: How Make Lemonade Brought a Floral Logo to Life with TPH

When opportunity knocks, entrepreneurs know the drill: say yes first, figure it out later.
That’s exactly how Rachel — owner of Make Lemonade, a Toronto-based floral design studio — found herself racing against the clock to bring a bold, large‑scale installation to life for a conference in Palm Springs.

“I just said, sure, I can totally do this, and then immediately had to figure out how on earth I was going to make it happen,” Rachel laughs. “So I called TPH and said, ‘Here’s the situation. These are the things I need.’”
A Local Connection Turns Into a Creative Partnership
Rachel had known about TPH for years. Living nearby meant walking past the storefront almost daily — a quiet familiarity that suddenly became the key to executing her biggest installation yet.
Make Lemonade was commissioned to build a hanging floral installation featuring an all‑yellow backdrop of blooms with the client’s ALT logo standing proudly in front.
To map out the arrangement with precision, Rachel knew she needed the logo printed large-scale. That was her reason for walking into TPH.
But once she started describing the full scope of the project, the College Park team immediately jumped in with ideas.
Turning a Complex Project Into a Seamless Build
“When I started chatting with them, they said, ‘Well, we can make the letters — we can cut them out for you.’ And that changed everything,” Rachel says.
The challenge?
The custom-cut logo letters not only had to be the perfect size — they also had to fit in her suitcase for the flight to California.

TPH handled it.
From printing oversized templates to cutting precise foam-core letters, the team stayed hands-on, flexible, and collaborative from start to finish.
“TPH was just amazing throughout the whole process,” Rachel says. “Their feedback, their problem solving — everything.”
A Stunning Result… with One Bittersweet Twist
The final installation in Palm Springs was a hit — bold, cheerful, and unmistakably handcrafted.
“The saddest part,” Rachel admits, “is that I had to leave it behind in Palm Springs.”
But for Make Lemonade, the experience marked something more meaningful: a partnership built on trust, creativity, and saying yes to big ideas.
