Preparing your file correctly helps ensure that your final print looks clean and professional.
Bleed
- Bleed is the extra image area that extends beyond the final trim edge.
- Include ⅛ inch (0.125") bleed on all sides for any design with artwork touching the edge.
- This prevents white borders caused by minor trimming variations.
Trim
- The trim line indicates the exact size your project will be cut to.
- Anything placed directly on the trim line may be cut off.
Safe Zone
- Keep important elements—such as text, logos, and key graphics—at least ¼ inch (0.25") inside the trim edge.
- This ensures nothing essential is lost during trimming.
Including bleed and respecting safe zones ensures a polished, professional result.
